SETTING UP MICROSOFT OUTLOOK TO ACCESS MAIL Ensure you're connected to the Internet, and have your setup letter standing by. Open the Outlook program. Go to Tools/Accounts/Add/Mail
A dialog box will open: Click the MAIL tab, fill in the blanks as follows: Display Name: what is displayed in the "From" section when someone receives mail from you. "John Doe" or "Evocity Customer Service" are examples. Then click NEXT.
Enter the your e-mail address as assigned by your Evocity Support Representative, and click NEXT
Incoming mail server is a POP3 server: mail.mydomain.com Outgoing mail server is an SMTP server: mail.mydomain.com (NOTE: replace the example "me@mydomain.com" with your assigned user and domain name) Click NEXT
Account name: username@mydomain.com Password: your assigned password (ensure you have the proper case selected) Check to have Outlook remember your password or not, depending on your preference. Click NEXT
Fill in applicable connection information (if the window pops up) Click FINISH Click CLOSE To test, Click on Send/Receive. The program will go to the mail server, log in and retrieve messages on the server (if there are any waiting). Then it sends any messages you have in your outbox. You should not receive any error messages if your domain transfer is properly set up. DIFFERENCES WITH OTHER E-MAIL SOFTWARE Eudora and Eudora Lite settings are similar, with the same incoming and outgoing mail server information, but the program requires users to be completely defined: username%mail.mydomain.com@mail.mydomain.com The above goes into the POP Account box. Netscape setup should be the same as Outlook, but if it doesn't work try entering your account name like this: name@mydomain.com
